East Bergholt Cinema
Your local village Cinema
A group of like-minded villagers had a vision to run a cinema in their own village, to be able to offer the convenience of being able to watch great movies without having to travel too far, and so the East Bergholt Cinema was born. This is your local cinema and we aim to show the latest releases, classic movies and films of local interest.
East Bergholt Cinema presents its screenings at the Constable Hall in the village, the doors open at 7.30pm and the film starts at 8.00pm.
Our aim is to eventually screen a film every month with the intention to show Oscar winning films, as well as a selection of acclaimed art house movies. We will also screen films that have a Suffolk connection and have ambition to tantalize.
To see news of the films being shown, to reserve tickets, or just find out more about the cinema please browse through our website and feel to telephone Sallie or John on 01206 298368.
We look forward to seeing you and gratefully appreciate your support which directly results in our ability to continue offering this service to our community.
Lottery Funding for the Cinema!
In 2015 we successfully awarded a grant of £10,000 from the Big Lottery Fund to buy our own cinema equipment and full blackout curtains at the Constable Hall in East Bergholt. From March 2015 we have been showing films using a wider screen and great sound and vision equipment tailored especially for the hall.
The extra flexibility provided by our own kit will enable us to expand our activities. We are very grateful to the Big Lottery Fund for this vote of confidence in our increasingly popular village cinema project.
